>>2688416This. I never use automatic because I like to be able to control my iso, metering, drive and exposure compensation. Plus my camera only takes JPEGs in automatic, and I like me raw files.
Aperture priority is definitely the way to go as it gives you enough control to work out how the photo is going to look before you take it, whilst still being confident that you probably aren't going to fuck it up too bad. I only really use shutter priority in extreme circumstances like bird watching or sports and manual for me is solely for long exposures and the like.
