So my friend and i got some untested cameras with a "50/50" probability to work, the film ones are supposed to have better chances so we got two cameras that we thought look cool. Even if they dont work at least they make for pretty paperweights. What i dont fully get is if you should develop film yourself or if letting somebody else do it for you is better. These starter kits start around 50 euros while how i understand DM can do that for you for 3,35 euros. Not waiting two weeks to get a result is fairly nice but i dont know if this is an investment that makes sense. After all we dont know if the cameras really work and we can only start testing them tomorrow. Btw how do we even know if the cameras work without actually seeing any results? The lenses on mine seem fine and the viewport is ok but dunno about the electronics. If i get the developing stuff myself i can also get a proper working camera but again how do i know if what i am doing makes sense?
The cameras were sold by a camera shop, they have a box of untested cameras and sell them for 3 euros.
