>>3371905 at the 6 minute mark. It's the part at the right where the "advance lever linkage" slips into. It has some cams that lock into position during the winding operation.
you only need to remove the bottom cover (4 screws) and the motor drive disk (1 screw) to be able to clearly see the winding operation.
it really helps if you have another X series camera with a working winder. set them upside down side by side, pull the winder on both and you'll see what part is acting up on the problem camera.
Service manual for the x300 has some stuff on how to check and adjust it. never done it myself.
>It looks like someone already tried a repair on it because the rubber cover over the screws has been removed.can't be sure. mine fell off by itself years ago. replaced it with a piece of leather cut to size.
