but one thing has been bothering me lately. Is a lens that is designed from the ground up for crop sensor (i.e. a 50mm dx nikon lens) actually the focal length it claims to be? I know that when using a full frame lens on a crop body it effectively changes the focal length so a 50 would be an 80, but if the lens is designed for crop sensors from the start wouldn't it make sense to just call it what it is?
