>>3727008>admitting confederate flag wavers fought proudly for owning black peopleNo shit they did. The complexity is that it was deeper than ONLY slavery, and had more to do with goals of Empire. The British supported that goal.
If you don't know who the Knights of the Golden Circle were and what their plans were, then you don't understand anything that America did in the 20th century.
The CIA is a confederate institution for all practical purposes. Their activities in central America were nothing but an even more subvert version of the goals of the KOGC.
Your crown knew.
>admitting you think slavery is a "lost cause" rather than an abhorrent stain on humanityI put it in quotation marks for a reason.
My ancestors on one side of my family were slave-owners, the other side of my family were indians that spent a lot of time hiding in the swamps of the delta to avoid contact with an enemy tribe who participated in slavery even more directly than white planter culture; white planters bought and sold slaves, the Creek were raiding Choctaw villages and enslaving the darker skinned members of the tribe as retribution for the Choctaw having been more accepting of runaways, many of whom were coming from Creek plantations in the first place.
If you actually wanna talk about the history of my area, you better be prepared to listen because I'm simply not here to speak through the prism of a fucking Brit that wants to pretend his country wasn't complicit in the crimes of the Confederacy.
The US Civil War was not the first civil war for my region. Don't come to me pompous when you've never even heard of the Red Sticks War and know nothing of the European agitation that caused it.
