>>3593912Ordered the EF 24-70 F4 L.
Brand new lens. 32 times the price of the body it's going on.
Based on anon's advice I looked at the 24-104 but in the end the price made the difference. The longer lens was just that bit more expensive than I could afford.
The shop had the 24-70 on promotion making the big difference - it was their first day open after Xmas and the last day of the promotion - they had none in stock - so instead it's been ordered direct from Canon.
There's something deeply idiotic about all this.
IDGAF. It was a voucher I couldn't turn into money anyway. I can at least turn the lens into money. It has no fungus, no oil on the blades, no shirt fibres deep inside, no weird electrical quirks, loose rings, odd noises and no fucking around with eBay and Dropped Hidden Lost sending it to thew wrong side of the country and forcing me to write a letter to a farmer who received it by surprise to get it back..
It'll be brand fucking new. In a box, from a shop. There's the receipt, there's the warranty card - fix it.
I'll let everyone know how well it works on an EOS650. It *should* work just fine - IS and all.
I might have to pick up an EOS-3 or 1V during the year to match. I don't think anyone at Canon ever thought someone would be dumb enough to do this.
