How do I get into an agency for motion graphics and/or video? I've been freelancing and the rates are OK, not great. I feel like I can't break in. I have one decent-named client. I'm just in a rut. I make enough, but taxes kill me. I'd rather be with a team doing commercial work, even if it's for local city businesses than doing odd jobs that usually aren't good enough for portfolio and I still have to chase them after invoicing.
I thought the one creative director I freelanced for would be better, but he thinks everything is corporate thievery. The only references I get from him on the side are just absolute idiots who never, ever know what they're calling about.
