>>4055620Well, I've had this GH6 since... May? And the 100-400 I've had for about a two months or so. I spent all of 2021 doing birb snaps with my K10D and a $1 70-300 and a $40 400mm Tak, but after making enough money with the GH6 thanks to my almost-certainly-OOF-and-terrible wedding photos, I decided to treat myself. Because I really enjoy, like REALLY enjoy, taking photos of birbs. I know that the GH6 AF is way better than my K10D, and I also know that I miss a hell of a lot of shots because of "lack of user experience," as well as slow reflexes and not understanding bird psychology. So I can't really tell you how much of it is the camera, and how much of it is me, but I feel pretty confident that it's probably mostly me, but who really knows? It's probably the case that if the GH6 had 100% accurate birb-eye AF, that I'd miss less shots, but it seems like a bit of a cop-out. For the moment, I'm more concerned with better understanding birds so that eventually I can do it manually (more fun/satisfying), and less concerned about the end product. (You can now type "Yes, I can tell," and feel very clever about it. Go ahead.)
