You could never present that as a finished image to someone, is my point.
Whereas with a raised, neutral "black" point, and no midtone contrast (ie processed to look like portra), you have the most popular look of the last 5 years in the can.
This is Superia 100 with basic curves adjustment. I could have hue shifted the blue to cyan and layer masked the shadows to shit brown if I'd wanted to perfect the emulation, but idk this look seems pretty simple to achieve.
