It's a little tricky to use because it labels things using the “technically correct” terms like dmax but you're left unsure what they actually do. The way I use it is:
> turn off stuff like filmic and color calibration> set the base color> move dmax until the picture spans most of the histogram (basically setting the white point)> move exposure bias until the shadows are deep enough (black point)> if needed, use the eye dropper and find a white/gray spot for highlights white balance> very rarely touch shadow balance; only if there's still a color cast
