>>3389265I don't have the 28 but I got the 24 2.8 Ai-S. I fucking love it to bits. It's a beater but still works spectacularly, quite compact, super smooth focusing. It takes a bit less than 180° to get from 30 cm to infinity. It does have some barrel distortion, it's usually +6 to correct it in Lightroom, but in most shots it doesn't bother me. Pic related, hope it gives an idea of the field of view.
Your zoom looks nice, I got the 75-150 series E, having zoom and focus in one ring is so convenient.
