Phone main cameras (25-30mm range) are good enough with the software crap compared to 1", m4/3, older APS-C. The wide and telephoto options even on the highest end phones are still severely lacking, even compared to something like a kit 55-200 or 70-300. But the message is probably aimed towards the <$1K camera group as most of the new non-software dependent tech can be implemented in cameras too, just at a higher cost. Like I don't see why this one can't be scaled to larger sensors other than cost, and we've already seem 35mm sensors get most of the tech smartphones got first (BSI and DRAM mostly)
