I don't really know how well VR works on that lens, I assume Nikon claims of 4 stops is a bit too much, even if I did got just a little blur with 1/15 on 105mm and 1600 iso with f/5.6 (with multiplier, it would be more like 150) - pic related.
But during last con, I didn't want to risk and did 1/125 on 105mm. When trying to "train" on family meetings at the other hand, usually anything longer than 1/60 result in blur, even with person not moving or anything.
