>>3739068>I really want to go to SEA, you can even call me a Thaiboo Thailand is awesome, but you need to get used to getting far away from your comfort zone.
>My two issues would be scams and eating (I don't want to spend all my holidays sitting on a toilet shitting water). Totally valid concerns. I'd suggest buying shorts with zipper pockets and only leaving home with enough cash to make it through the day. Don't walk around with your passport and credit cards unnecessarily. It's 99% safe, but it sucks that 1% of the time you get pick pocketed or get hassled by the cops and have to pay a bribe.
>Same with motorbike driving: maybe drivimg on the countryside is confy (if you keep your eyes on the road) but I think driving in BKK would be like signing a death warrant.Bangkok is pretty tame compared to some other places, I think Ho Chi Minh is worse. At least Bangkok has a modern metro you can take. Also, in Bangkok the people are a bit more orderly. Vietnam they don't give a shit about driving on the wrong side of the street or on the sidewalk etc...
Anyway, talking about traveling now is a bit moot anyway.
Pic related, some 35mm Bangkok traffic.
