50ish is the best focal length. I leave my other lenses in a drawer unless I know exactly what I'm shooting before I leave the house. Having just a single prime and your camera out of the bag and ready to go eliminates so much of the hesitation to take spontaneous photos and better allows you to visualize the field of view and compose the shot before bringing your camera up to your eye.
