>>4143480>Yeah, that was always here (and it's fine to an extent; I love the F5 with a 35mm on it) but making it the primary reason for buying a camera is what's new.Gear lust if's a thing, I'll admit that. The kind of gear they lust after is very weird though (I'd even say ugly) and only explained by them being from those boards like you said.
>That is absolutely a /fa/ and /soc/ manifestation.I always found it ironic that a board dedicated to fashion has such terrible taste in clothing. I think the term fashion victim is very apt for them, they probably see all these haute couture meme outfits created more to drive conversation than to be worn and don't really get what it's about so they wear all this ridiculous tryhard stuff and pay good money for it even. They look like clowns but they think they're being fashionable. It's tragicomic if you ask me, no sense of style but an amalgam I'd clashing trends instead.
I do care about fashion a lot even if I don't consider myself particularly fashionable, I'm just a gray man. But editorial fashion photography is one of the few genres I can obsess about when it comes to stills. Ironically you don't see a lot of Fujis used as props. Probably because they lack authenticity. But also because they're ugly, specially the pretend-rangefinders. Even the rangefinders that show up as props are Contax ones rather than even Leicas, probably because the design looks fresh despite the twin windows. The true darling of fashion photography is the Hasselblad 500, however.
