This assignment references the influential color photography work of Magnum photojournalist, Martin Parr. Your primary goal is to create a series of photographs that are connected thematically, through color relationships and subject matter. Humorous juxtapositions of subject content are encouraged. Your photos will be arranged as a group of five related photographic images.
Look for subjects with bright, vivid and saturated color. Complimentary color relationships work well. Fragmentation and extreme close-ups of your subject work well for this assignment. Compose your subject by cropping your images at unusal angles. Each photograph must be shot at a different location and should reflect a different subject or theme. All images should be composed carefully as you are shooting—no post production cropping allowed.
