Why is this still so contentious?
It's a semi-expensive high end camera.
The live view autofocus lags behind an older DSLR's OVF.
Nikon supposedly improved it but the body designs got worse at the same time ("i want nikon cameras to be larger" - nobody, the lead of the z6iii design team)
Fuji autofocus also sucks. They are also expensive for what they are. The whole mirrorless thing feels like a scam compared to a normal, consumer-grade camera from 10 years ago with the sole exception of video.
If they don't significantly improve the AF with firmware (at least) it's back to reflex for me buddy. I recommend anyone thinking about blowing $2k on a z+lens or x+lens wait and consider the same thing - "good enough" autofocus on mirrorless (fuji, panasonic, nikon that isn't brand new top shelf) is not actually very good, especially not on things that move. Actually, sometimes AF-S just totally misses a static subject for no clear reason. The only skill issue is expecting autofocus to automatically focus, k3k
