The first time I took a picture of the moon, I clamped a tiny little Canon IXUS 400s subcompact digital camera to the eyepiece of a Celestron C90 Maksutov "spotting scope" and this was the result.
It's not as ideal as directly mounting your camera optics to the back of the scope with a so-called T-Mount (* and removing the eyepiece) but the magnification was interesting.
