>>3662672>Battery life being a huge deal here I have no idea how to gauge what a week long usage means in film termsDepends on the battery/camera type. Cameras that use button cells/only need the battery to power the lightmeter will last years.
Cameras that use CR123/AAs that need them for auto film advance/flash will drain the battery within 20-40 rolls.
>but a lot of the medium format options out there look either too heavy or too flimsy to withstand shooting in the Pacific Northwest rainforestYou sound super anal like film cameras weren't ever used in those type conditions for decades. Heck I've taken my Canon P (1959 manual rangefinder) to the beach multiple times and it come home covered in sand, it's even been completely soaked in the rain twice. That camera is the complete opposite of weather proof and it's working just as good as the day i got it.
pic related long exposure night time shot at the beach with the Canon P.
If you're real keen on Medium Format I can recommend a Fuji GA645, Fuji GA645Zi, Fuji GS645S, Bronica ETRS/ETRSi or Bronica SQ-A/SQ-Ai.
for 35mm literally any SLR made after the 80s, sure the Nikonos is completely weather sealed but you'll have to get use to zone focusing.
