Recently got my greasy hands on my father's old Hasselblad 500c/m from 1987. A12 back, Zeiss Planar 80mm f/2.8, waist-level finder (cleverly folding one); the lot. As far as cosmetics go it's practically perfect - no dirt, no visible scuffs. Thing is, the mechanism has jammed and the last repairman to have his hands on it (he used to work for Hasselblad) pushed the auxiliary curtain open with his fingers so it looks absolutely fucking shot. Moreover, the camera only worked for about a single exposure after that then got stuck again (keep in mind this was some 5 years ago). Service and repair would most likely reach some 400€, but I'm lucky enough to live in the same city as the Hasselblad factory.
I guess my big questions are these: Is the 400€ service worth it, and do any of you have any general tips for the 500c/m pertaining anything from technique to extra gear?
