I was kind of talking out of my ass with the 'no such thing as wrong balance' thing but it makes sense to me because the CC you do in enlarging is always a bit different each time, and inverting in Darktable requires you to give it the color of the film base and pick out something to WB against, so to me there's no natural starting point that can be right or wrong.
