Film (including other historical processes) can be fun for hobbyists and is good in certain cases for art use.
Film doesn't have any place in professional practice in commercial photography except for a few niche areas (like 8x10 black and white for the feds). The advantages of digital are clear and well defined at this point. It isn't even a real discussion anymore.
This argument is akin to painters complaining that photography isn't an art form. It is full of pretension, old dead arguments, and tedious die-hards that seem to argue for the sake of arguing.
