The meter on my F3 and FM both give different exposure readings when stopping down vs not (with aperture coupling).
For example I threw a 50mm 1.8 AF-D on the F3 and flick the aperture coupling tab down so that it'll meter without having to stop-down. At f/5.6 it might say that it's overexposed by 1 stop but if I push down the DOF preview button (effectively stop-down metering) it tells me that I'm underexposed by one stop. Same with the FM.
Anyone know why this is? Is it just because of the difference of what the camera calculates the exposure will be at the aperture vs what it actually reads when stopping down? Any help would be appreciated.
