You have probably never had anyone say delete it and know it was a great photo that they love the shit out of a few days later - i have, often enough.
Saphire always demands I delete her photos. But by refusing nicely she now agrees that they are actually really good, and it would have been a bit of a travesty to delete them. We good chums now. I regualrly shoot her dance crew.
Some people take a lot of time to comprehend what is a good image of them.
Some people demand deletion simply because they don't know shit and just assume something evil. These people need to be corrected, because that attitude is broken.
I could say "ok, done" and pretend to, but that is bullshit.
What I do is either delete them during cull, or on the off chance its an excellent shot i retain it for them in future years. Pretty good chance they will like it after they have had time to get old and ugly, and I befriend many of the people I talk to anyway.. It's the people who think they can demand that I do it, and then want to touch my gear to actually check for themselves.. those I just point blank say no to. There is nothing they will accept so I give them nothing.
Generally I say I'll delete it later... many accept this becaseu they can see from talking to me for more than a few serconds that I'm not as demonic as they initially presumed, but some dont want to hear that, they want to get what they feel entitled to. But fuck them becasue giving them anyhting just makes them more aggressive with the next legitimate photographer they encounter.
To be honest i'm fucking tired of people being pussies and expecting everyone else to be the same. You just encourage the self-entitled assholes to demand things they have no right to from people who are starting out.
Misinterpret me all you like. I'm friendly and compliant, but you absolutely cannot tell me what to do.
