>>3495320I actually used a lot of Portra 400 on a recent trip to Scotland. I used 645 for the trip for the sake of wind and constantly changing conditions that would make large format all but impossible to use at the time of year I was going. Unfortunately, after scanning in the film I find the 400 version to be way too grainy for my taste especially in such a small format. It was nice to be able to handhold stuff, or at least to get quicker exposures in the wind at sunrise. It would probably be ok as far as grain goes in 4x5 sheets, but by the time you're using large format I never expect a quick exposure so I just use the 160 version.
