With a lot of those photos, especially the busier ones, I ended up including more than I would have previously in an effort to deliberately apply some of the commonly prescribed "principles" of composition, rather that go with smaller scenes that jumped out at me. This resulted in an additive process rather than a subtractive one, and I think is part of why they didn't feel quite as satisfactory to take, and maybe don't land quite as well.
I was feeling a little torn between going for simplicity vs complexity, and had been looking at a lot of paintings from the hudson river school. Impactful images at that scale are still beyond my abilities, I think. Oh well. More to come. I think I might start hanging out in graveyards again.
