I use a Nikon FE and I can't get my images to be as tack sharp as ones on my rangefinders (and they're nothing special, pretty cheap thrift shop finds). I've made sure to focus carefully and I even see this on higher apertures such as f/8 and f/16. For example, in this shot I used a tripod and cable-release with the focus being the ornaments and bowl in the center. However, the edges are all soft even in spite of spot-on focus. This was shot at f/16 for 30 seconds on Ektar 100 film. I'm thinking it's possibly mirror-slap because even my cheap rangefinders are taking much sharper images. Any tips?
