>>4345398Along those lines, Canon is insane for dropping EOS M. They will never get RF body/lens combos that small because of the RF mount width. Now, I love EF and RF mount for FF and I'm glad they didn't try to squeeze FF through apsc the way Sony did. But EF-M can simply be smaller and lighter. Nothing beats the M+22mm or 18-55 IS when I don't want to carry a camera, but do.
Canon should keep two M bodies in production: one with their normal ergonomics, and one with classic mechanical camera ergonomics. People would go nuts over the latter. Just make a handful of great small primes (like the 22 f/2) and small high quality zooms (like the 11-22). They would sell like crazy.
I get that boomer management doesn't want to support two separate and incompatible lens mounts. But EF-M was fantastic for street/travel/hiking. Keeping my M, want an 11-22 IS, and also want to add an M5. And I've got 4 other EF/RF bodies (FF and apsc) and a ton of lenses to choose from. The M still has its place.
