I am thinking since I move positions and lighting is harsh in my area that I will shoot in ISO priority because ideally i want my entire body to be in focus and the only thing that won't really ruin a shot is bein off by 1 ISO since i can fix that in the light room. just shooting my doug from about 1m i noticed f/1.8 only gives about 6" of focus depth. i plan to shoot myself and my doeg from about 3-4m in the forest and am worried i will need about 2ft of focus depth which may make the image too dark with needing higher /f stop. anyways here is my doug with the kit lens.
