>>4005138And for the final picture of Kyoto we have Kinkakuji. With walls completely covered in gold leaf, it was certainly an impressive sight. I really wish I could have had a bit of sunlight if only for this picture, but alas my trip continued to be overcast.
As a side note, according to one of my hosts back in Kanazawa, the town (Kanazawa that is) was (still is?) a major producer of gold leaf, and likely contributed a lot to the coating for this temple.
