The lens works well, I got very interesting results on a full frame without any sharpening beyond the default on Lightroom. It's not the highest contrast lens out there so you do need to bump the clarity a bit and the contrast, and it's adviseable to correct the CA.
You want the version that doesn't say macro, that one changed the optics to offer a bit closer focusing range and became softer overall.
Also while the bright band version is the coolest looking, it tends to have problems with the internal mechanisms because there's a key part that wears down, a plastic bushing or something like that (there's details on Pentaxforums).
You can even get a decent result handholding, at least with a DSLR. A mirrorless could be harder to hold still.
Normally I wouldn't post photos to this board as I tend to hoard them for an art board I like more but for you I'm making an exception.
Sharpening is at the default 25, contrast -58, clarity +44, CA was removed, a curve was applied crushing the blacks a bit.
ISO 250, 1/200s, don't remember the aperture but it likely wasn't wide open.
Focusing can be a pain as the lens goes past infinity (at least my copy does).
Video unrelated, posting because I really enjoy M.O.O.N.:
