Here I've used an Opteka 500mm f/6.3 mirror lens with a 2x Teleconverter for an equivalent 1,000mm lens and slapped on a crazy 275mm extension tube. This flower is about 25-30 feet away(?) and the image isn't cropped, this is actual size, just resized as per board request. The flower IRL is about 1/2" wide I think. I was taking this shot hand held, so quality is horrific, since I need high ISO to get 1/1000 required for handheld. The DOF is razor thin and a tripod with sandbags is really needed, even in full sun, to get clear images with lower ISO and slower exposures. No moving fast subjects with this.
