>>4093270Look man, I actually have a Z7II and I can tell you now it fucking blows. I came from Panasonic FF of all places and honestly, from the depths of my heart it's a downgrade in every
single
way
except autofocus which is the only strand left keeping me here and not somewhere else.
I hate the menus (can't use the dials to scroll), I hate the UI (won't even show you batt percentage in shooting mode what a joke, sub menu only), I hate the button layout (who would have thought 2 control dials is acceptable for a flagship camera), I hate the customisation (not all buttons can do everything, I gotta remap fucking hatswitch to change format and AF-ON to display cycle because NO other buttons will do it to maximise function), and I hate the quirks (won't save the full RAW when shooting in crop mode, the ONLY reason to have a high res camera these days, just cucks you with the cropped only jfc)
The only, ONLY reason I bought Nikon is to share compatibility with my film gear and to have some semblance of AF. With Sigma making L-Mount lensesI have a much, much easier time getting good quality glass for the Pana than I do for the Nikon. Their only saving grace at the moment is that their top shelf lenses are spectacular, but with the GMII's coming out they're losing their pedigree fast. I would gladly take a 70-200mm GMII over the heavy as shit Nikon for a 2% loss in IQ. Hell I'm having to buy a E-Z Adapter and throw in the towel just to have access to an actual range of glass that's worth shooting.
I'm glad you're going to have fun with vintage glass because that's all you get, and to be fair, you're only gonna get automatic aperture control on F glass because everything else shoots the same as any other FF mirrorless camera. Take it from me because I have literally adapted them once already. They shoot the same and Pana's colour science, IBIS, AF assist tools and ergonomics are already better than the Nikon.
