I had a similar experience, shoot with softer lenses so that you wont expect a pixel perfect image, turn off in camera sharpening and slowly ween yourself from the desire to pixel peep.
Its fine to look up close, just don't let small imperfections get to you, I know that half of the experience is to satisfy yourself but people you show your images to will not care one bit if the image isnt pixel perfect.
