>>3520953just pulled out my SRT102 to check it but I don't see any foam where the red line is pointing, between the damper and mount ring. that space is quite tight with the lens locking latch there... however, I sent it to service a few years ago and had all the old decaying foam around the finder removed and replaced. it probably got removed then... don't have light leaking issues.
here's the service manual diagram for that part. seems to be the foam piece at the top of the mirror box front frame.
