I have had a terrible experience buying cameras, used and new. I'll tell my story if you wanna hear it /p/
I got a starter dlsr. It broke within 2 months. Shutter was busted or something and it was gonna cost $250, not worth fixing. Then after realizing I really liked photography, I upped my budget to like $750 and got an XT2 with a 35mm. Really good condition cosmetically but it had all these dead pixels and the on/off slider was almost seized. Sent it back. Then I thought, I have had enough of used. So I found an Em5mkiii on sale for $940 with the f2.8 kit lens. Brand new, factory sealed. I thought, this thing will do, its a good deal, bought it, done. Guess what? dead pixels or hot pixels or whatever it is they call it. All over the place, worse than the fuji. Back in the mail
So here I am now, 4 months after beginning to look for a camera and back on the compact camera that got me into photography to begin with. Here is a picture I took on my first dslr, before I knew what I was doing. The composition is terrible, it's iso 800 in broad daylight, the horizon isnt level and Im at a ridiculous aperture for some reason. Its all so wrong and it's laughable now but I won't fix it. The picture doesn't mean anything but now that I look at it, I wonder if those little reeds are still there, from all those months ago, growing and withstanding or have they died. I guess I'll go back there next weekend and find out.
