>>3592063>spews random audiophile terms hoping to confuseLooks like I hit a nerve.
>You only don't like subs because you've not had a good one properly setup, if you had, you wouldn't even know it was thereOh, how deprived you are and you don't even know it. Subs are cheap ways to fill a room with bass. They have one poorly mixed channel and rely on the other channels to trick you into thinking it is part of the surround system. All of my channels save for the center are acting as subs. This both fills the room, and offers directional sound and movement. You have to hear it to understand just how superior it is to a subwoofer. That signal is mixed into all of the channels, you know. Try using it.
>The size and number of drivers does not dictate how "tight or clean" the sound isKek, did you just say there is no correlation between room size and speaker surface area, or did you completely forget about that part of the equation? Also, smaller cones = less distortion and response at high volumes and better reproduction at low volumes.
>of course it's preampedAnd biamped. Bypassing the crossovers lets you isolate the lows from the mids and highs to dial it in perfectly for the room, making a subwoofer unnecessary. These go down to 18Hz.
>Power ratings are absolute drivel>the first watt is the only important oneI know where you're attempting to go, but you obviously forgot that I'm not using a subwoofer. Watts matter if you want clean audio especially moving that much air at low frequencies. I use HK receivers and Bryston amps, so that should tell you all you need to know regarding current and how it's measured before you get into the "all channels driven" marketing BS.
>2 feet from any wallUhhh, pic related is one of the reasons why I chose these. They were engineered with a permanent "wall" behind them meaning they sound the same 6 inches from a wall or 6 feet with very minor calibration. Not everyone just buys the first thing they see, you know.
