How big is the difference between a 35mm 1.8 lens and a nikon kit lens?
I'm asking because I've been meaning to get the former to replace the latter, since It's very highly regarded for it's performance for the price and the pictures I've seen browsing through flickr looked great.
Thing is, who's to say this isn't just a matter of the photographer being more skilled? I'm worried I'd get the new lens and find out my shit looks the same because I'm not a good enough photographer to reap the benefits of better gear just yet.
What is your opinion of the lens? would I notice a difference right away? is it downright a better lens?
