>>4017574I've been trying to get out to Manchester more often to just pick a spot for a few hours and wait; it's harder to do that in town, certainly - but I'm from a small midlands village originally and there was definitely more looks at me wandering around there.
On the other hand, the village has been overran by upper middle/upper class types the last fifteen years and I'm very not what they think the place should be; so they're probably more bothered I don't have a pastel coloured sweater drapped on my shoulders. They never complain when they get their scenic pics, though and they've never bothered me at least.
One thing I've found true everywhere:
18-29 tend to be pretty much just up for a laugh if you ask.
70-90 are up for a laugh and want to talk about photography/cameras if they've noticed you.
Anything in between is where you're in more of a grey area.
