It’s darker because pixels always have some space between them and the more pixels there are the more empty space there is that’s not recording light. Nikons sensor design minimizes this better than the cheaper sensor in the olympus. Using larger pixels generally does. Nikon also uses much thinner cover glass which compounds this small issue up to a half stop of difference. Snoy cameras use thicker filters AND noisy sensors so they can look as bad as m43.
