>>4053284They're cheap, I've upgraded since then but I still have a few, I recently bought an 85 1.4 AF-D and I have a 180/2.8 ED AF-D and a Sigma EX 24/1.8 and a rare 55/2.8 Nikkor Macro AF which has been regarded as Nikon's sharpest lens. Some of that AF-D glass was legendary.
The newer stuff is nice, I have a Sigma ART 50/1.4 and that thing is scary how sharp it is. I also have a Tamron 15-30 f2.8 which was my first newer-era lens that was not screwdrive and it's amazing. Same with my Tamron 150-600
I was referring to OP looking for budget lenses and AF-D is always a sure ticket to affordability and image quality. A decent portion of the Sugar Thread was done on AF-D.
