as for sky replacements, I wouldn't ever try to sell this, but I did this where the scene looked kinda shit before because it was just hazy gray skies. I think it's decent, but if I wanted to sell I would just try and go back to the location. I think heavy modifications are okay if it can make an interesting photo out of something that you would have never considered.
