Hi guys, first time posting here. I figured this general is mostly for filmmakers so apologies if I'm at the wrong thread for this or ask noobie questions.
So I recently found an old Sony CCD-V600E Hi8 handycam and it made me want to get into shooting some film. Mostly shoot some skateboarding video's and film when I'm hanging out with friends. I kinda dig the aesthetic of casette so I really want to stick with that.
However, when I turned it on I see pic related through the viewfinder. (don't know if this is the correct term, it's the tube thing where you put your eye on to look at the stuff you're filming.)
Is the lens fucked? If yes, is it worth it to fix/replace it?
Are there any suggestions or alternatives I can go for in case the camcorder is fucked? What kind of prices am I looking at?
Thanks!
