a6300 on firmware 1.0
Left is 3.2 exposure, right 4s exposure.

Star eater is on full effect on the a6300, whatever firmware it's on. At least, the first generation of A7 and the second generation A7 with an older firmware are safe from this. a6xxx users are fucked from the get go.

Also, obviously this algorithm doesn't only affect stars. Shooting the roof of my neighbor, it's slightly sharper @3.2 than it is @4s
