I wouldn't have recommended you buy a super expensive lens for optical flawlessness, if I thought everyone should just be using P&Ss and M43.
M43 IS shit, and makes no sense to buy. A used DSLR from about 2010, either cope sensor or foolframe is Value/$ the best deal you'll get for the foreseeable future.
A 5DIII would kick the shit out of most peoples' setups. And yes, that includes using a kit lens.
You being hung up on spending mortgage money on a fist full of lens elements IS what's wrong with /p/. There's nothing wrong with nice gear, but (You) make photographs that rival the quality of an etch-a-sketch.
