I need to take a lot pictures of small, flat coupons. They are typically less than 2" x 12", but up to 5 of them may be taken at a time. I was looking at copy stands (pic related), and I wanted to see if /p/ had any experience/recommendations for copy stands and cameras suited for that kind of work, or any alternate recommendations.
Requirements for the camera would be:
Under $4000. The lower the better, as I would have to justify every dollar. Also, the lower the cost, the faster I can get it. If a $500 camera can do the job, then that's what I would buy.
Have a flip-up screen (similar to pic) so you can see what you are shooting.
Be able to discern fine details in a pretty much all black object. (think splinters)
Not required but would be nice to be able to take medium-distance shots (say for example a 10' x 4' object from 30 feet away).
As for the copy stand, it would most likely sit on a desk, but if a stand-along option is available for not too much money then I could justify that as well. I was thinking the Kaiser RS2 (again, pic related).
Any thoughts?
(i had made a thread earlier not knowing there was a gear thread... my bad)
