I get that sensor size can be thought of as a proxy for depth of field but it's still entirely down to the characteristics of the lens and focusing distance.

There's no “look” to MF that can't be replicated with slightly faster, shorter FF glass. Prove me wrong (protip: you can't).

Not sure why you would buy rings for the vintage mount. I bought some E-mount rings and that's much more convenient than having rings for m42, C/Y, P-K etc. Can't think of any advantage to having the rings be pre-adaptor. I guess m42 rings have a bit of secret extra extension by partially unscrewing them, but that's really ghetto and potentially dangerous.
