The reason behind this was they spent all their credits criticizing the lack of 2nd card slot and the other issues. If they had tagged this criticism on top of everything they would come off as too biased against Canon.
So the EOS R got away with it for cheap.
Despite having really bad readout speed even in crop mode which is supposed to be more lenient than a continuous Full Readout.
