DIYers sure are image post heavy. /p/ needs more of that actually. Here's the finished product, complete with yellow marker so I don't put it on the camera incorrectly, and a protective cap for storage (pinhole is made in thin aluminum foil). I'm calling it a Recessed Pinhole Cap. It is bright enough that I can simply bump up the ISO, which I normally never do, to use this indoors in somewhat dim light.
>Focal Length: 34.5mm (51.75mm on 1.5x crop)
>Pinhole diameter: 0.256mm (0.248mm is optimal, error of 0.008mm)
>F Stop: 139
>Angle of View: 82.1 degrees
>Max Image Diameter: 66.2mm
>ISO Film Speed Equivalent: 100
>Sunny Day Exposure: 1/2 second
I'm glad that is over with. That for some reason was a difficult build. Then again getting it wrong meant destroying my camera with the first photo. Now the camera feels super lightweight. The DOF is amazing. I can stick stuff right up and inside the cap and it will be as in focus as distant hills.
